Meet the Doctor, the founder of Royal Oak Optometry — Dr. Marvin Argatoff!

When Dr. Argatoff opened Royal Oak Optometry 40 years ago, it was his first job out of optometry school. In order to support the office while it got started, he had to work in Port Hardy at the same time. Dr. Argatoff’s dream was to establish an optometry clinic in Royal Oak, and he worked hard to make it a reality!

Dr. Argatoff’s story begins in the west Kootenay region of British Columbia. He moved to Waterloo, Ontario to pursue undergraduate studies and to complete his Doctor of Optometry Degree in 1978.

Upon graduation, Dr. Argatoff returned to BC, fell in love with Victoria, and started this practice in Royal Oak. The following year, he married Gail and they have two daughters, Joanne and Sandra.

When he’s not in the office, Dr. Argatoff can be found golfing, cooking, or doing renovations around the house.
